Career
Worked as teacher; wrote in Finnish. 1927 first work printed. His verse is emotional, fresh and expressive, close to folk song style.
Many of his poems have been included in Karelian school readers. Translated into Finnish Chemyshevskiy’s Chto delat’? (What Should We Do? ), and works of Chekhov, Gorky, Fadeyev, Novikov-Priboy, Sholokhov, et cetera
