Career
Mooney is the Newspaper Association of America Division III"s program"s first head coach, which began in 2006. Through 2010, he has compiled an overall record of 17–34, including a 9–2 campaign in 2008 that resulted in a Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. Remarkably, this turnaround occurred one year after two 0–10 seasons to begin the program
This single-season turnaround was the best in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III football history.
