Toichiro Takamatsu graduated from Tokyo University (1934).
In 1935 Toichiro Takamatsu entered Mainichi Newspaper Company. He had assignments as special correspondent in China, London, New York and the Philippines. Then served as assistant manager of Social Department and chief editor of Sunday Maimichi magazine; thereafter went to America for inspection of newspaper business.
Works include "Correspondence from Europe," "The World After the War" and "America and Japan." Also has published a great number of critical essays on diplomacy and theses on science of journalism.
Member of Japan Society for Science of Journalism, German Literature Society and Asian Politics and Economic Society.
