He made his screen debut as an actor of the Taisho Motion Picture Company, founded by Junichiro Tanizaki, noted novelist, and others. Okada Tokihiko subsequently belonged to the Nikkatsu and Shochiku Motion Picture companies. He was a matinee idol in the early Showa Era.
Tokihiko Okada died of tuberculosis a month and two days before turning 31.
He was the father of film actress Mariko Okada.
