After graduating from Fukuoka Medical College (predecessor of Kyushu University) (1908) was conferred a doctorate (1920). Rejoined his alma mater as professor (1925) to become dean of its Faculty of Medicine (1938), and the following year retired to become professor emeritus (1939). He was president of Manchuria Medical College and simultaneously president also of Kagoshima Prefectural College (1948-1951). Became principal of Seinan Middle and High schools (since 1951). Among his works are "Hygiene of Sunshine", "Eradication of Round Worm Eggs" and "Why A Person Gets Sick."
