Member District 12 Georgia House of Representatives, 2004—2010. Member United States Congress from 9th Georgia District, since 2010.


God never intended nor desired for a single person to go to Hell. Sin caused a separation between God and man, and that Jesus’ death on the cross is the only bridge to cross from death to life. This bridge, however, is accessible by anyone at anytime.


The diversity inside the Church should be respected and supported. Open debate within the Church on certain political and social issues should be encouraged.


God should be loved with hearts as well as with minds. To the best of ability everyone needs to think things through in the light of reason. This means becoming aware of different points of view, and using his or her critical thinking to make sense of God's world.
