Thomas L. Hughes born in Coal Creek, Colorado, United States of America, was a right-handed pitcher for the New York Highlanders and Boston Braves.
Career
He was also the brother of former major league pitcher Editor Hughes. On June 16 of that year, he no-hit the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 at Braves Field. He struck out future Hall-of-Famer Honus Wagner for the final out.
He died in Los Angeles at the age of 77.
Achievements
He helped the Braves win the 1914 World Series. He led the National League in Games (50), Saves (9) and Games Finished (22) in 1915 and Won-Loss percentage (842) in 1916. His accomplishments are being the Braves franchise career leader in WHIP (1022) and Hits Allowed/9IP (677).
