Began as messenger, became cashier at 18, president, since 1886, Merchants & Planters National Bank, Sherman. President Commonwealth Trust Company, St. Louis, February 8, 1903. Vice president 1908-1913.

President 1913-1915, and Chairman of the Board, June 15, since 1915, of National Bank of Commerce, St. Louis. Director Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States, St. Louis Southwestern Railway Company, and interested in various banks, trust companies, cottonseed oil mills and other enterprises. Executive committee American Bankers’ Association, 1903-1906.
