Career
He scored the winning goal for in the 1913 Final against Sunderland. Barber served as a private in the 17th (Service) Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment during the First World War. He saw action at Delville Wood and Waterlot Farm in the summer of 1916 and was wounded in the legs and evacuated to Britain.
After recovering in Aberdeen, he was transferred to the Labour Corps and later worked in a munitions factory in Glasgow.
He died of tuberculosis in 1925.
