A native of Kyoto, he was an expert in the art of making pictures on lacquer ware with gold dust. The style of his art was modeled after Korin Ogatas. Tomoharu is said to be the first man to use zinc dust for lacquer ware pictures. He is known to have been active during 1804-20.
