Career
Tomoyoshi Shirahata was assigned to Britain (1938) and transferred to Italy (1939).
He was appointed third secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Italy (1942), secretary of the Japanese Legation in Switzerland (1944).
Appointed director of the Overseas Office at Soerabaja (1951) and Consul the following year. Appointed secretary to the Prime Minister (1953); chief of the Third Section of the Asia Bureau of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1955).
