Career
Amongst others, he placed third in the Memorial Marka race (Marko Lihteneker memorial race) in Staneta in 2006. The Memorial Marka race in Staneta is named in honour of him.

Karničar, member of the GRS Jezersko, took part as a member of the national ski mountaineering team in the 2004 World Championship of Ski Mountaineering, when he placed sixth in the relay event together with Jernej Karničar, Žiga Karničar and Marko Lihteneker.
