Career

He appeared in 75 first-class matches as a righthanded batsman who bowled right arm fast medium. He scored 1,764 runs with a highest score of 97 and took 213 wickets with a best performance of six for 42. In 1963 He was appointed as Principal of Bishops Dioscesan College in Cape Town, South Africa which post he held until his retirement in 1983 when he was succeeded by John Peake – a former Eton Housemaster.
