Sarg, Tony was born on April 24, 1882 in Guatemala, C.A. Son of Francis Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Parker) Sarg.


Educated German Military School, Lichterfelde, Germany.


Eleanor Norcliffe. Officer in German Army until 1905. Began as illustrator, London, England., 1905. Came to the United States, 1915, naturalized citizen, 1921.

Illustrator of humorous stories for Saturday Evening Post, Red Book, Collier’s, Cosmopolitan, etc. Creator of “Tony Sarg’s Marionettes,” 1915. Property of Tony Sarg Company (marionette shows), Tony Sarg Stnudios, Tony Sarg.

Workshops (makers of window displays), creator of monster balloon parades all over the country.
