Kreken plays within the bands Eivind Aarset Trio (bass), Faircastle Four (gitar, banjo), Shining (bass), The Holstein United Bluegrass Boys (banjo, vokal) Wibutee (bass, banjo). 2013: Received the Statoil scholarship within the band Shining, at By:larm in Oslo.
