Toru Shimamoto he served as chief of Foreign Investment Section of Kawase-kyoku (Foreign Exchange Bureau) of Finance Ministry, secretary of finance stationed in Europe, vice-chief of 5th Department of Economic Stabilization Board, chief of 1st Department of Bukkacho (Price Agency) and member of Kosei Torihiki Iin (Fair Trade Commission) and thereafter became president of Hokkaido Bank.
Assumed additional post of trustee of Zenkoku Chiho Ginlco Kyokai (National Local Bankers' Association) (since 1953).
