He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Winston-Salem State University by the New York Jets. He is currently the quarterback coach at Garinger High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went from Winston-Salem State to the Jets practice squad, where he spent two years before disappearing for two. He showed up on the Saints practice squad, was cut, and then ended up spending months on Buffalo"s roster in 2006 before bringing his career to an education

Woodbury threw for a school record 4,536 passing yards with 40 touchdowns and also rushed for 1,020 yards and 20 touchdowns during his career at WSSU. His 60 combined touchdowns also tied a school record. Woodbury was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free-agent.
He played as quarterback and wide receiver but then was released. He was signed by the Buffalo Bills for the 2006 season but was released afterwards.
Woodbury is currently the running backs coach at Delaware State University.
