Toshia Yasumi was born in 1903 in Osaka City, Japan.
Toshia Yasumi worked with the Tsukijiza Troupe, and Gekidan Shin Tokyo Troupe. He joined PCL movie studio. During the above period translated many Russian literature. Toshia Yasumi became scenario writer for the Toho Motion Picture Company (1936), after was a free lancer. Outstanding of his scenarios are "War and Peace," Sasameyuki (Snowflakes), Okuni-to-Gohei and Osakano-Yado (Inn at Osaka).
