In 1914, Gamō Toshioki graduated from Ueda Sericultural Professional School and then completed the special course of the Science Department of Tokyo University.
After serving as professor of Ueda Sericultural Professional School, Gamō Toshioki became professor of Shinshu University. He rendered extensive researches concerning breathing trouble of silk-worm, studied the relations between the growth of silkworm and Vitamin С and other general items on the worm.
In 1950, he was elected to the Japan Academic Council.
