Graduated from English Language Department of Tokyo Foreign Language School (1916).
In 1916 entered Foreign Ministry and served in Manchuria, China and India. Appointed Vice-Consul in San Francisco (1925) and then Consul in Rangoon, Burma. Retired from Foreign Ministry and joined Taiwan Shokutaku Kaisha (Formosa Development Company) (1939) and served successively as manager of its Manila Branch, chief of South Seas Section of the head office and manager of Bankok Branch and then managing director and chief of Administrative Office of Burma Association. Later assumed his present posts. Assumed additional posts of director of Tonan Ajia Keizai Doyii-kai (South-East Asia Economic Friends' Society) (1949) and lecturer of Kanagawa University (1950).
