Career
Waters fought for the world title three times during his career, losing to Gianfranco Rosi, Terry Norris and Simon Brown. His second attempt at a world title came six wins later in 1993 when he lost to WBC light middleweight champ Terry Norris in three rounds. The second round of his fight with Norris was named The Ring"s round of the year for 1993.
Waters knocked down Norris in the second round, but lost by TKO in the third round.
Just two fights later Waters lost his third and final title fight to Simon Brown in Las Vegas by majority decision. In his next fight he defeated Mexican champ and former WBC welterweight champ Jorge Vaca.
He ended his career stopping Ambrose Mlilo to finish at 28-5, with 20 knockouts.
