Tsubone Kozaisho was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Josai Mon-in, the second daughter of Emperor Toba, when Michimori fell in love with her. He pined for her so much that he began sending her love letters couched in waka poetry. When the Princess came to know of this she got them married. When her husband was defeated at the Battle of Ichi-no-Tani by the troops of Genji and his ship on which he was fleeing was wrecked, she drowned herself by jumping into the sea.
Tsubone Kozaisho was a wife of Michimori Taira and the daughter of Norikata Fujiwara, she was a lady-in-waiting to Princess Josai Mon-in, the second daughter of Emperor Toba, when Michimori fell in love with her.
