Graduated from Kobu Daigaku (precursor of Engineering Department of Tokyo University) (1885) and studied in Europe and the United States.
Career
Joined the Ishikawajima Shipyards (1888) and was promoted to chief engineer and director. Was adviser and concurrently director of the Japan Electric Light Company.
