Tsutomu Nishikawa went to Osaka (1909). He studied at an English language school operated by a foreigner. Graduated from Waseda University (1916).
Career
After graduating from Waseda University, where he studied English literature, he wrote poems, nursery songs, literary criticism, novels and translated stories by Western authors. Joined the Yomiuri Shimbun (1929) and worked for its go game section.
