Career

Admitted to Nebraska bar, 1857. Member Nebraska Territorial House of Representatives, 1857-1860, Council of Nebraska Territory, 1860-1864. Prominent in Nebraska statehood movement.

Elected to the United States House of Representatives from Nebraska, June 1866 (in the event that Nebraska was granted statehood), took office when Nebraska became state March 2, 1867, with only 2 days remaining in term. General attorney Missouri River and Burlington Railroad Company, 1869-1894.
