Tyson is an exceptional finance leader and community activist with over 20 years of combined community and investment experience. Tyson brings a high sense of civic engagement to his professional and personal life. Tyson co-founded the Harlem Jets, an NGO after school program. He has been the seed investor for the country’s the largest minority management firms and has allocated over $10B to WMBE firms over his career.
Tyson Pratcher is responsible for the creation of the Opportunistic Portfolio which invested in diverse assets including alternative fixed income products, distressed/special situation investments, private equity investments, cross-asset class funds, niche strategies and revenue sharing investments. The portfolio exceeded it benchmark. With over 33% of the portfolio invested with firms owned by women and minorities, it saw the largest MWBE participation of any large pension plan in the United States.
Tyson Pratcher’s professional history includes the creation of the CRF’s Emerging Manager Program which focused on investments with women and minority owned firms as well as smaller and/or newer private equity funds, real estate funds and hedge funds. Under Pratcher’s financial leadership, the portfolio grew from $400 million to $8 billion in assets. During Tyson’s time at CRF, he also worked on the advisory board of several successful firms.
