Career
He is a former Modern Language Association of Nimbahera constituency, and he was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 from Chittorgarh constituency. He is also a prominent businessman. He was booked for allegedly sexually exploiting a 50-year-old woman since 1984 on the pretext of marriage and forcing her to undergo abortion.He has denied the charge.

Congress has nominated him for contesting 2014 Lok Sabha election from Jalore constituency.
