Career
A master of the Shinnai style of recitation. A restaurant proprietor in Edo, he called himself Azumaji-Fujidayu. He was favored by Uzaemon Ichimura, noted Kabuki actor, he became a reciter attached to the Ichimuraza Theater. With his sonorous voice, he won such popularity that many other reciters became jealous and forced him to change his surname to Hanazono.
