Background
Ujiteru Hojo was born in 1540. He was the second son of Ujiyasu.

Career
In 1569 he defended his territory successfully against an invasion of the forces of Shingen Takeda, lord of Kai (Yamanasm Prefecture). When Hideyoshi Toyotomi sent his forces to capture Odawara, he proceeaed there to defend it. Upon the fall of Odawara Castle, he killed himself with his brother, Ujimasa, in 1590.
