Umpei Ogawa

Background

Umpei Ogawa was born in 1876.

Career

Ogawa Umpai had been interpreter to the Japanese Army during the Boxer Rebellion (1900). After that he made a detailed study of conditions of China and Mongolia in those days which he used as base for his book.
