Grigoryan was born in 1917 in the Arajadzor village of Martakert region.

In 1941, Grigoryan graduated from Yerevan Medical Institute and soon thereafter was recruited to the Army.
In 1952 he received the degree of a doctor of medicine and the title of a professor in Moscow. Grigoryan worked at the 1st Medical Institute after Sechenov. In 1962 and 1963 he was awarded with a silver and gold medals at the All-Soviet Exhibition.
He died in 1980 at the age of 63.
Foreign more than 25 years, Grigoryan was the scientific secretary of the Operating Committee of the All-Soviet Union of Surgeons and member of the Supreme Accreditation Commission.
