Mr. John had authored several books on different subjects including literature, politics and Siddha medicine.In 1992 he completed his dissertation "Professor.Ruthnaswamy - A Parliamentarian" to Pachaiyappa"s College in for the Master"s Degree in History
He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1974 and 1984.
