GORINEVSKIY, Valentin was born on October 5, 1857.
Graduate Medical Faculty, Heidelberg University. 1887 graduate Saint St. Petersburg Military Medical Academy.
1887 defended doctor's thesis and thereafter worked for 30 years in Saint St. Petersburg as a pediatrist and factory and school physician. Simultaneously lectured on school hygiene and physical training at various higher educational establishments. A follower of Philisophy F. Lesgaft’s theories, he pioneered physical training in schools and campaigned for a school medical program
1912 established one of first Russian school biometric laboratories at Tenishevskiy College, Saint St. Petersburg. Founder-head Chair of Research Methods on Physical Development, Lesgaft’s Higher Courses. After 1917 October Revol helped to organize research on and training of medical specialists in physical training.
First dean, Medical Faculty, Samara University, where he lectured on hygiene, biology and physiology. 1921 founded research department at Main Military Physical Training School, Moscow. 1923 founded first Soviet Chair of Medical and Pedagogical Control of Physical Training and a number of laboratories at Moscow Institute of Physical Training.
Until 1934 lectured on physical training and school and labor hygiene at 2nd Moscow State University. Trained hundreds of medical physical training specialists at Minister of Health courses, Centr Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training, Institute of Balneology, Child and Adolescent Welfare Department, et cetera Was one of first Soviet sci to develop new physical therapy methods.
