Meyers graduated with a Bachelor of Arts In English with a minor in Business from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 1993 and is currently working on an Master of Business Administration in international business administration at Mercer University in Atlanta.
Meyers considers herself a health enthusiast and has been an avid runner for approximately twenty years. She regularly participates in marathons and triathlons. Meyers is employed as a technical writer and information technology business analyst for Computer Sciences Corporation in Warner Robins, Georgia, where she analyzes and documents supply chain and inventory management logistics for software development.
Much of her work involves product development for Robins Air Force Base as well as other United States. Air Force bases around the world.
Meyers has also served as a delegate at county, district, and state Republican conventions and as a precinct chairman for her district. Meyers served as Houston County, Georgia Coordinator and 8th Congressional District Coordinator for Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign, helping to organize grassroots volunteer support across five middle Georgia counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Houston, Peach and Laurens.
Meyers remains active in Paul"s successor organization Campaign for Liberty. Meyers was the organization’s Regional Coordinator for the 8th Congressional District before stepping down to run for the United States Congress.
Meyers brands herself as a Ron Paul Republican, running on a Constitutional conservative platform of strong support for the United States. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Meyers pledges to support legislation that will put citizens back in control of their own lives and of their government. She opposes the healthcare legislation currently being debated in Congress, believing that government"s growing involvement in personal healthcare matters is the main contributing factor to the problems plaguing the industry. Meyers believes many of the problems in the nation"s current economic crisis arose from financial intervention by the Federal Reserve and strongly supports legislation that will audit the Federal Reserve to make its actions more transparent.
Meyers advocates reduced government spending, balanced budgets, the elimination of the income tax, repeal of the 16th Amendment, and implementing a consumption-based Fair Tax program to replace revenues generated from the income tax
Meyers is pro-life, pro-gun, and a strong supporter of the entire Bill of Rights.
Meyers supports a strong national defense that includes immigration control at the country"s borders and when necessary to defend the nation"s interests, a clearly defined, concise declaration of war by Congress as authorized by the Constitution to ensure victory is swift and decisive.
Meyers is an active member of the Georgia Republican Party and most recently served as a vice chairman in the 8th Congressional District.
