KIRPOTIN, Valeriy was born in 1898.
Graduated Philosophical Department, Moscow Institute of Red Professor.
1925-1932 Professor, and Director, Chair of Leninism, Leningrad Military Political Academy. 1931 simultaneously Deputy Director, Leningrad Department, Communist Academy, and member, Editor Board, journal “Problemy kommunizma” (Problems of Communism). 1932-1934 member, Organization Committee, 1934-1954 Presidium member, USSR Union of Writers.
For a long time member, Academy Council, Institute of World Lit., USSR Academy of Science, and member, Editorial Board, journals “Literatumaya kritika” and “Oktyabr”. Edited collected works of Saltykov-Shchedrin, Nekrasov and Chernyshevsky. Since 1956 member, Editorial Board, Dostoevsky’s collected works.
