Valery Ivanovich Isayants was published in "Voronezhskiy Universitet" and "Molodoj kommunar" newspapers since his student days. He was a secondary school teacher in Gorbunovo village (Novosibirsk Region) in 1969. He worked in the local newspaper in the town of Mogocha (Chita Region) in 1970. He used to work in different cultural institutions of Voronezh since 1971. He worked in samizdat journal "37" in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in 1976 under the alias S. Senev.
