Nemirovich-Danchenko, Vasilii was born on January 5, 1849 in Tiflis.


Educated at the Cadet Corps.


War correspondent during the Russo-Turkish war 1877-1878, the Russo-Japanese war 1904-1905, and World War I. Prolific writer of novels, travel books and memoirs. 50 vol. collected works published in Petrograd, 1916. Emigrated, 1921. Settled in Prague.
