Career
Took part in the Russo-Japanese war, 1904-1905. During World War I, commander-in-chief of the Northern front. Joined the Red Army, 1918.
Military inspector during the Civil War. Professor of the Military Academy of the Red Army, 1919-1929. Wrote on military geography, history and administration.
