From the age of nine farm laborer for landowner. 1905-1908 private in Russian Army stationed at Kutaisi. 1914-1917 private, sergeant and sergeant-major on Caucasian Front.
1917-1918 military comissar and chairman, Military Revol Committee, Stavropol’ Province. From 1918 in Red Army. 1918-1919 commander, 4th Soviet Stavropol’ Cavalry Regiment
1919-1921 brigade commander with 6th Cavalry Division, Budcnnyy’s 1st Mounted Army. From 1921 various commands. During World War 2 commander, 6th Reserve Cavalry Brigade.
From 1945 retired.
