YUREV, Vasiliy was born in 1879.


1905 graduated Novo-Aleksandriysk Institute of Agriculture and Forestry.


Director, Kharkov Selection Station, since 1944. Director, Institute of Genetics and Selection, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1946. Professor, Kharkov Agriculture Institute, since 1937.

Full member, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, since 1945. Full member, Ukrainia Academy, of Agriculture Science, since 1956. Honorary member, AllUnion Lenin Agriculture Academy, since 1957.

Honoured Worker of Science of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1948. 1905-1909 uezd agronomist, Penza Guberniya. 1909-1944 at Kharkov Selection Station.

Deputy, Ukrainia Supreme Soviet of 1959 convocation. Research deals with theoretical and practical problems of selection and seed-growing of agricultural crops. Has raised new varieties of winter and spring wheat, rye, barley, millet and maize.
