Vasily Afanasyev was born on June 13, 1923 in Tambov. He was born in a middle-class family.

Education

Vasily Nikolaevich graduated from the Balashov Air School in 1942.

Career

Vasily Nikolaevich worked at the diesel locomotive plant named after Dzerzhinsky in Voronezh. He was an assistant to the commander of the 94th Guards Ground Attack Air Regiment, 2nd Air Army, 1st Ukrainian Front. He made 112 sorties. After the Great Patriotic War he continued to serve in the Air Force. Since 1964, colonel Afanasyev in reserve.

Achievements

A memorial plaque (2002) was placed on the house where Afanasyev lived (Plekhanovskaya str., 20).
