Since August, 1916 Gubanov had been living in Voronezh under police watch and worked as a turner on "Richard-Pohle" factory. In October of 1917 he had become a member of Military Revolutionary committee and an organizer of combat labourer groups. In 1917 and 1918 Gubanov was a member of Voronezh city committee of Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolshevik fraction), Soviet of Workers' and Soldiers' deputies and Governorate’s executive committee.He had been killed in action by soldiers of general Krasnov army.
