From 1897 associate professor Novorossiysk University. Before 1917 October Revol co-founder, Odessa Women’s Courses. Cd, journal Vestnik opytnoy fiziki i elementar- noy matematiki.
Co-founder and associate, Mathesis Sciences Publ House. 1922-1930 held seminars on tensor calculus at Mathematical Research Institute, Moscow University. From 1923 professor, Moscow Unic.
From 1890 onwards popularized N.l. Lobachevskiy’s mathematical teachings. In his book "The Principles of Geometry” he expounded the axiomatics of Euclidian space and analyzed their consistency and independence.
In his studies of tensor calculus and its applications to geometry he developed the theory of subprojective spaces representing a broad generalization of Lobachevskiy’s space. Founded the Soviet school of differential geometric tensor calculus.
