Mamonov graduated from Moscow School of Crafts with a specialization in cabinet-making.
Mamonov worked as a restorer of old furniture in Kropotkin of Krasnodar Krai (1949-1953), as an interior designer in Voroshilovgrad (1954-1961) and Bryansk (1961-1968). Since 1968 he lives in Novovoronezh, Voronezh region. He was a main painter at the Community Centre of Novovoronezh nuclear power plant. Now Mamonov is a head of the children’s art studio «Watercolor», which was given a title «national» in 1985.
The children’s art studio «Watercolor» under the supervision of Mamonov became a laureate and diploma winner of many regional and all-Russian exhibitions and festivals. Also Mamonov organized the Museum of Children’s Art at the City Community Center.
In 1986, Mamonov became a bronze medalist of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National USSR Economy. In 1989, Veniamin Mamonov was granted the title of Honored Cultural Worker of the RSFSR.
