As a student active in Russian Revol move ment. On several occasions arrested by police. While living abroad, contributed to Bolshevik newspapers Vperyod and Proletariy, 1905 returned to Russia and was elected to Saint St. Petersburg Soviet of Workers’ Deputy.
Arrested and after release from prison placed under police surveillance. During 1917 October Revol helped organize and direct Proletarian Red Cross. Closely acquainted with Lenin and his family.
With formation of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Education directed its School Hygiene (School Health) Department. From March 1918 deputy chairman, Council of Physicians’ Collegia. From June 1918 member, 1st Collegium, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic People's Commissariat of Health.
