Physician by profession. From 1890’s worked for Social-Dcmocratic organisation in Russia and abroad. 1899 emigrated to Canada with Dukhobors religious section
1900 returned to Russia, arrested and deported. In London joined Foreign League of Social-Dcmocratic Organisation After Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party schism joined Bolsheviks.
Helped smuggle illegal lit into Russia. Company-ed, Social-Dcmocratic journal “Rassvet”. Contributed to Bolshevik newspapers “Vperyod", “Proletariy”, et cetera
1906 returned to Russia, helped organize workers’ clubs. From 1908 helped run “Zhizn’ i znaniye” (Life and Knowledge) Publishing House. During 1917 February Revol founded Revol Red Cross organisation.
Foreign some time secretary, Petrograd newspaper “Izvestiya Soveta Rabochikh Deputatov". During 1917 October Revol organized medical aid for battle squads. Until September 1918 head, Children’s Health Department, People's Commissariat of Education.
Helped organize People's Commissariat of Health. Collegium member, People's Commissariat of Health. Translated a number of books from German, French and English.
