Cossack officer during World War I. During the Civil War, elected Ataman of the Kuban Cossacks. After the defeat of the Whites, evacuated to Turkey. Settled in Western Europe.
During World War II, joined the anti-communist Cossacks in Austria, 1945. One of the very few to escape being handed over to SMERSH at the end of World War II. Moved to the USA. In his old age, worked as a labourer on a chicken farm.
