Came to the United States, 1938, naturalized 1943. Building supervisor Edmund Melcher, and engineer Steiner, Vienna, 1923-1932. Own practice architecture, designed important residential and commercial projects, Austria, Germany, Czechoslovakia, with office at Vienna, 1932-1938.

Architectural practice, New York City, later additional offices at Los Angeles, and Chicago, Europe. President Victor Gruen Planning and Architecture, Inc., Switzerland. Planning and architectural consultant to state and city goverments private orgns. in France, Belgium, Vienna, Austria, Scandinavian countries.

Projects for J.L. Hudson Company, (Northland, Eastland regional shopping centers. Shown National Gallery, Washington, as a part of American International Assurance centennial exhibit), Westland Regional Shopping Center, Dayton Company, Minneapolis (Southdale regional shopping center). City planning projects Fort Worth, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Boston.

Planning redevelopment city Core Fresno, California, Paterson, New Jersey, Rockville Center, New York Lecturer before professional orgns., also in European countries. Formed Victor Gruen Foundation for Environmental Planning, Los Los Angeles.
