Career
From 1989 to 2001, he headed the Spoken Language Systems Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Laboratory for Computer Science. The group pioneered the development of many systems enabling interactions between human and computers using spoken language. Then, he served a ten-year tenure as Director of the Laboratory for Computer Science (LCS), and the Company-Director and Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL).
Since 2001, Victor has returned to teaching and research from the director position in 2011.
Zue was born in Sichuan, China and raised in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He came to the United States at age 18, while started studying in the University of Florida.
