Career

Editor Milwaukee Daily Vorwaerts. Editor Milwaukee Leader, a Socialist daily, since 1911. Delegate People’s Party Convention, St. Louis, 1896, and tried to organize the Debs sentiment in that convention.

Delegate American Socialist Party to International Socialist Congress, Marseilles, France, 1925. Writer many essays and pamphlets on social questions.

Achievements

  • In 1892 founded Wisconsin Vorwaerts, a German-language newspaper.

    He was the first Socialist to be elected to the United States House of Representatives.
